Michael this topic of the amplified pops and clicks is really interesting for me. I was fitted with hi-tech digital hearing aids about 6 weeks ago and I get exactly the same effect when listening to my top of the range Linn turntable and Naim amps. The clicks on my records sound twenty times more accentuated through my hearing aids than just listening to the speakers!! It must be to do with compression even though I have dedicated music setting on my aids with all of the digital processing turned off. I wonder if this is very similar to your direct connection from the camera to your pre-amp and You Tube processing ? Keep up the good work I love your channel. Best wishes Michael (UK).

Hi Michael, in my opinion the heavy compression is due to the camera's audio settings. Perhaps it is possible to disable or at least minimize audio-compression on your camera. YouTube does it's share but what I heard on your video was way more excessive that the usual YouTube compression.
Never the less I really enjoyed your video and listening to music with like minded music lovers. Best wishes from Vienna 👍

Hi Michael miss you on Rachel’s channel, can you do an updated video on your record collection and Listening room. Cheers from Australia

Michael, The noise or distortion you hear when connecting the phono preamp directly to your video camera is due to the imbalance between the audio output level at the phono preamp and the maximum audio level at the camera input. The signal is probably saturating the camera's audio input, and this saturated signal at the input of the analog/digital converter is creating these audio glitches. To prove this, simply connect the audio output of the line preamp to the camera instead of connecting the phono preamp. Reduce the signal level and you will probably see a decrease in noise.

Also eine Dynamik Einschränkung statt findet. Audio Einstellungen anschauen.

Hallo, Michael.

I would suggest using a stereo mic in the X/Y configuration positioned where you normally listen

Hallo Michael,

Seems quite obvious that the elephant in the room, the weakest link in the whole signal path is not the Youtube compression, but the analogue to digital conversion inside the digital camera? Maybe compare the quality / cost of such circuit & chip to rest of the equipment used. Perhaps it’s cheaper by a factor of 100-1000x vs turntable, phono stage, and preamp. If one would use an analogue to digital converter that matches the analogue chain, the signal uploaded to Youtube would be reproduced very close to the actual analogue input
