As a non-owning partner, pre-divorce with children in the marriage, I'm now looking to move out of the matrimonial home. When I move and my matrimonial home rights are revoked, how can I protect my interest in the matrimonial home? With kids staying there I'm fully aware that I may have to wait a long time for a settlement but worry that my ex could sell the house and dispose of any equity before divorce and finances are settled in court. It's difficult to afford costs of divorce and buying a new house, hence the delay in divorce.

I had a relationship breakdown 11 years ago, my ex partner took the kids & changed the locks to our family home & I wasn't able to retrieve any personal items either, he sold all my belongings, I was left homeless & he continued on paying the mortgage for the last few years but I now need to sell due to me needing a house myself as I'm unable to hold onto it any longer needing the funds from it, am I still entitled to the house as both our names are on the title deed & am I still entitled to any equity gained?

Hi, I have a question if you could help me I would be very greatful. Me and partner rented ( I moved in with her) we decided to buy a house but cos she has bad credit rating she cudnt be on mortgage . So I have the house in my name only and I put £18k up front for deposit solicitors etc etc. Now before I got my mortgage they asked my partner to fill a occupancy agreement in I believe it is called. We have been in house for 1 year now. We’re going to get married this year. My question is. If we ever split up, is she entitled to half the house? Thank you appreciate a reply Jason

I've been with my partner for 5 years and through all that 5 she didn't have a Job. I was doing everything alone in our cohabitation. She recently just got a job and she says she is leaving. Can I claim in family court. I feel used for my money for all these years we have been together

Hello. My partner and I have been together for 3 years renting. We decided 6 months ago to buy our first home. Unfortunately because I was still at university and not earning enough it ended up him only on the mortgage. We can’t reevaluate that for 5 years even though I now earn more then him. I pay half to everything in the property including bills and mortgage payments. Have I got any legal claim to the property or is there something I can put in place so it’s 50/50 like it was originally meant to be?

What if we both own it but the week after we bought it we split and I took on the payments on my own and have paid for the last 14 years. I can’t get their name off it due to having to pay a redemption fee as we had a insecure loan that ru a along side the mortgage

So what if partner A owns the house (bought it, paid solicitors fees and name is on the deeds only etc) and partner b who was there just paying rent not on any deeds but was on correspondence letters from estate agents, banks etc would partner b still be entitled to a beneficiary in the property? Just curious as this is happening to my partner and his ex girlfriend 🙄

MY partner and i were in a lot of debt and told together we couldn't get a house, so I took out a loan to clear all her debt and enough left for a deposit for a house, so all the payments came from her bank even though it was money from the bank loan we were together 10 years, 3 years in the house and I still pay house insurance on the house, am I entitled to anything ?

What if (if I were the homeowner) I got my partner to sign a lodger agreement? Would that nullify any claim they could make if they were paying towards the mortgage/bills?
