This really cut deep. I feel like the lyrics were directed at me: "You are broken on the floor

But you're broken on the floor, still, asking him for more." I've left my ex-boyfriend a year ago - but I am still hurting deeply and hoping for him to change. Sometimes, out of nowhere, he would still text me, and I would immediately respond, hoping, that he has changed, that he is doing better. But every single time he disappoints me by just ignoring me again. He is an addict and after trying to help him I realized that you can love a person all you want, you cannot fix or heal them. The whole relationship scarred me and traumatized me. It's hard to let go when you love someone, it's hard to let go of someone when you feel you have to protect them. But in the end, you cannot give up yourself by not giving up on someone who is unwilling or unable to work on themselves. </3 So thank you for writing such wonderful and eye-opening music.
