How to use the aliquot method to by weighing and measuring volume

If a scale can not handle small amounts like 0.5 grams, won't the problem remain in larger weights simply because I can't tell when the scale reaches .1, .5, .7, etc on that same scale because it only shows whole numbers.

I don't understand why the total mixture has to multiply by the factor?

emetic, how could you obtain the correct quantity of tartar emetic to fill the prescription? Can anyone solve it for me plz?
