I used the original CaliFlower to calibrate/tune my E3D tool changer and it helped immensely! Now time to test with the Calilantern 😎

Love it! My Ender 3 had a starting calibration score of 189, but after a couple of round of adjustments it’s up to 758. In addition to the cal values that this produces, the measurements uncovered and fix a few physical problems on my printer (z axis backlash in my case).

just wanted to say thankyou for this. ive always had my printer pretty good, but its the best its ever been in terms of dimensional accuracy. thankyou again.

The points 9 and 10 were a bit complex for me. The images were not clear enough that I had to measure it with the internal part and not with the external part that is part of the base. Maybe a video or Youtube short of how to measure the most complex points would be a great idea for people like me.

But I can ensure that your method is by far the best and more complete. That is why I bought it (even not being super cheap for me, I am Argentinian and it cost around 3 thousands pesos after all the taxes we have to pay for things in another currency, but still not expensive ) and I can recommend it. Great tools for people like me who loves tinkering and fine tunning my machine.

Keep the good work!

THANK YOU for your efforts and contributions!! The documentation appears sterling. One detail that is oft ignored and/or neglected. I will take advantage of this. Again, THANKS!!

I've printed and measured, but I am confused on the instructions from there. Printed using Anycubic Kobra Max sliced in Cura. After filling outt the sheet the adjustments I am to make are

1. Modifying firmware for SKEW
2. Material Shrinkage in Cura (combines XY)

And that's all?
or add 3. Steps/Axis part scaling
I can add the material shrinkage values in Cura and modify firmware, but if my Internal measurements are off my -0.27% and external by -0.03% then this will likely just decrease the internal error and increase the external error. Would I then Adjust horizontal expansion? what if it is different between X and Y axis? My XY skew was negligible, but my X axis was far more off than my Y and all internal measurements were all more undersized than the external measurements. Any help would be great

I was about to use the original model but I thought I’d check the channel for updates, so I’ll be using this one instead.

Maybe it’s a cali-present?

Many years ago (about 10+) when i had my first printer, the wooden Replicator Dual i squared and trammed it out but found my prints to be slightly off in X/Y so i simply tightened the belt until was able to jog the head and measure the difference with my caliper. I found if i did the same measurement starting from the other end it would be off by a bit, in which i learned the dimensional relationship between the stepper motor and the closest link to the tool head. And it changes between enclosed and open prints (ABS or PLA, etc)

I would recommend printing out one of those belt tension tools in petg, just to get a relative position on the tension your adjusting

It is not so easy so measure it perfectly and to be always perpendicular. Also the amount of slight pressure on the calliper changes the values. But it worked at the end and I saw how good the raise3d pro3 from factory was. 700 points but after calibration I got 980. so nearly perfect… thanks

Hi @Vector3DP can i complete your Calilantern calibration instruction for anycubic cobra 2 (vulcano extr)? Because its not marlin or klipper.... 4:17

If any of the measurements confuse anyone, go to 2:47 and pause to go frame by frame using, and .
You can watch him do each measurement 3 times and track through until he gets to the one you need to see.

Just bought the files, thanks for the discount code. Looking forward to see how much more I can get my V2.4R2 dialed in!

That looks pretty nice 👍

May it be possible that you could do a video on how to tune Bridging? I have major issues with bridging but can't quit work it out on how to tune it better

Also on YT i didn't find any really useful Videos about this.

Would be very awesome if you could do one 🫡😊

Thank you very much for all the work and effort put into this tool.
You have indeed given an important contribution to the 3D printing community throughout the years.
I just bought this tool as a token of my appreciation.

i hope this one works out better than the flat one. i had a heck of a time because i was doing iterations and things were turning out random.
but i was smart and saved my default settings so i could start over.

Hey mate, just bought a copy of this. :) It's a neat concept. I forgot to save my calibration data when I reformatted my PC and really don't feel like doing all these little steps manually again. x.x It was a pain in the butt last time... I'm hoping this makes the process a bit easier. ^.^ Cheers!
