Hi guys, I really love your channel. I always thought I had a somewhat decent grasp of the English language, but after watching tens of yours videos, I realized there’s still a long way to go. You’ve helped me to correct a lot of mistakes I used to make regularly. In terms of pronunciation you’ve been very helpful as well. Spanish is my native language, and in Spanish we don’t use the “zzzz" sound, is there a way to know when to pronounce the "s" with the "ssss" sound, and when to pronounce it with the "zzz" sound? To this day, that still confuses me. Thanks for your work.

Should we start taking regional differences into consideration: US usually /ˈvās/, Canadian usually and US also /ˈvāz/, British usually, Canadian also, and US sometimes /ˈväz/? I guess, I should've phrased my question differently: "Shouldn't we, as learners, be informed of ..., or is it asking for too much?

Have to admit, after living for almost 3 decades in the US, I didn't know how properly to pronounce the word VASE.

Oxford and Longman dictionaries have 2 American variants - both with 's' and 'z'. Should I not trust these sources?

Maria Mogilko and Venya Pak organized an online lingua trip tv school. They recently celebrated the anniversary of their school. The online school is now eight years old. They want to teach even more people. They want to expand their school. People from Russia and other neighboring countries write that they are cool and great experts in English.

She is under the influence of Russian, where the word ваза (vase) pronounced with Z. That’s why we must listen to native speakers.
