American Bar Association launches task force to improve voter confidence in elections

The American Bar Association is launching a task force to improve voter confidence in elections, as former President Trump is still pushing the lie that the 2020 election was stolen. Former Federal Judge J. Michael Luttig and Jeh Johnson, who are both chairs of the Task Force for American Democracy, join Andrea Mitchell to discuss. “So an important part of this task force effort is going to be to remind Americans that their vote counts, their vote matters," says Johnson. “Their vote is important, and their vote is the essence of democracy. And democracy is the root of everything else we enjoy in this country.”

Lack of voter confidence is only half the story. Scheming, corrupt lawyers and politically appointed judges making biassed and incompetent decisions is just as big an issue. The ABA won't be dealing with that mess any time soon, though. Especially if journalists never tackle them on the issue and give them an easy ride like Andrea Mitchell just did.

There are some of us who could probably give you input from a just citizen standpoint. I am not a lawyer, but l, at age 79, born during the closing days of WWII, can tell you how democracy has changed over my lifetime. Also, polls are misleading. I am asked to participate in polls every day, and they want me to pay them for the pleasire of answering their poll. I have always declined. I am a graduate of a top 10 University with a graduate degree and many years of taking extension courses because l was interested in the subject but l couldn't git these classes in when l was a full time student. Night classes while working. We would like our voices heard as well.

I have no issue with the integrity of our elections. I do have issue with the integrity of some of the Republican "lawmakers" who are undermining the trust in elections.
