How long shall we fight over this? Let’s just do what the Bible says

I have never spoken to another person who thought to use Irenaus statements to determine the Hebrew name of Jesus (as) and honestly never spoken to anyone or read anything that gives me reasons to believe that academics and scholars are not really so smart.

The name of Jesus (as) is said to have contained "2 1/2 letters", and this is on account of the Hebrew letter Yod being more or less the size of an apostrophe. I have in read Hebrew literature (Zohar) that Yod is a half of a letter.

My question is, if Jesus was named Yeshua in Hebrew like Joshua ben Nun, what is the evidence?

Can it be refuted (the evidence)? It seems like a simple guess on account of they know his name means salvation and apparently they just never realized that Irenaus provides enough information to reasonably conclude that Yeshua COULD NOT have been the Hebrew name of Jesus.

It is more than 2.5 letters and so must be ruled out.

Black Did Black people rebuid Israel as it was prophesised that the returning Hebrews/Israelites would do so? No!!! White Israelites did!!. Truth is truth no matter how cruel it sounds.

Additionally the word ישע yesha appears prominently in texts of the Dead Sea scrolls. The "sons of YeShA." So it is beyond doubt that it was used in that time period.

Additionally in the Arabic translation from the Hebrew/Syriac Bible the name of Joshua is يشوع or YeSHUA while Jesus is يسوع or YeSuA.

In the Qur'an it is عيسى or Isa which is very similar in sound to the Hebrew word, if transliterated it is Ysa which could also be Isa. It seems to me that the Qur'an is the only book with any form of his correct name.

ישע Y-Sh-A
2.5 letters which fits Irenaus description.

It is Hebrew for salvation which he is called by in the New Testament, "My eyes have seen salvation." when he was an infant. It appears it was supposed to be his name and some translator was confused and treated it as a common word, not a name. I shall quote Irenaus.

I think those Black Hebrews he referred to are the Yahweh, Ben, Yahweh brothers. I use to see them on the corners of Martin Luther King, Jr Blvd and Crenshaw Bl. as well as Marlton St. in Los Angeles a while back. No hang out there but they move around a lot now.

Yeshuah is the hebrew translation, Yeshua is the greek translation, Jesus is english translation. They all translate to the same Person who is our messiah & life saver! In spanish the name Juan is the same as John in english or Ludwig translates the same as Louis in French. The word agua in spanish translates to water in English.

You would think the name of God would be widely known? Is Satan successful in hiding it? The God Culture had the best explanation I've seen in a multi part series. Why don't we call Jesus Joshua? Strange to me Christians and Jews servants of the most high and only true God have lost his name and don't really think it's important. Has Jesus replaced God the Father? He has a name although I'm not sure why it's Jesus instead of Joshua? I find it all strange and confusing. I guess knowing someone, loving someone, worshipping someone doesn't require knowing their name? Weird stuff. The all knowing clergyman filled with the spirit of God and being taught all things by him have as many opinions on the name as they do about his substance and how to get saved past tense but not guaranteed. I could go on for weeks about the different beliefs but good thing you have the right ones and you are saved past tense.

Orthodox jews don't write or say God. He is called HaShem, the name. They feel we aren't worthy to say his actual name. Jesus is indeed Yeshua, which you might know by it's english translation, Joshua.

Now Irenaus clearly says that the name of the Messiah is made up of three characters or 2.5 letters. This makes it HIGHLY unlikely that the name of the Messiah was Yeshua which certainly has more than 2.5 letters and so I concur that the Hebrew name of the Messiah was the simple Hebrew word for salvation, Yod-Shin-Ayin, which makes his name, "YShA."

Iranaeus, Against Heresies chapter book 2 chapter xxiv:

" 2. Moreover, Jesus, which is a word belonging to the proper tongue of the Hebrews, contains, as the learned among them declare, two letters and a half, ... "

The learned among the Hebrews declare that his name was made of 2 and a half letters. The translator of Irenaus in vol. 1 of the Ante-Nicene Fathers speculates regarding the name, thinking it needs to be Yesu or something similar. He theorizes ישו (ysu).

Only problem is that this word has no meaning in Hebrew and the New Testament even refers to the Messiah as "salvation." It should be common knowledge that his name is the word for salvation in Hebrew. But it is not.

I can't help but laugh when Christians think they are doing something good as opposed to those who use Jesus (as).

They think pretending that he had the same name as Joshua ben Nun makes them more authentic, but I have never spoken to one who was aware of this passage.
