This interview with the director of the next installment Wes Ball will give you some clues!

Wes Ball is a Director, VFX and graphic artist. He’s directed THE MAZE RUNNER trilogy and currently has several projects in development. Wes graduated from the Florida State University College of Motion Picture Arts. In 2003, his short film A WORK IN PROGRESS won a Student Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. His animated short RUIN got the attention of executives at 20th Century Fox and earned him his first feature directing job THE MAZE RUNNER. After the success of the film, Ball started his own production company OddBall Entertainment.

In this quick behind-the-scenes interview, Wes talks about the daunting task of following the sci-fi cult classic; taking over the story and script development. He also talks about the legacy of the film and how KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES respects the original classic, yet moves the story forward.

The movie takes place a lot of years were it can take place were the 1968 movie did were you can do it with a new ruler of the Apes who will be a different kind of ruler than before and everyone is living different from before and the humans are now just like in the 1968 movie that the movie does not have to be about the virus anymore that it is done with the virus were you can move the story more into the future and the human technology is still left were it can be found and still be used by the ruler on the other apes so he can have power to make them do what he wants them to do that they can not say know to him that they have to do what they are told to do that would be able to make up more movies with that in mind that their is something else that can be told that has not been used before now that it is years that have gone by and you got a different life and people that everything has to be different enough to be able to do it and make kingdom of the planet of the apes that people would still be willing to see it how of a change were you do not have to think of the other movies and surprise people because of it
