UNO Synth vs VOLCA Bass │ SAME THING? - haQ attaQ 298

Are the KORG Volca Bass and the IK Multimedia UNO Synth the same thing? They're both analog hardware synthesizers around $200 and they've both got sequencers right? I've received questions about this ever since the UNO came out and I stared featuring it in my videos. Well, here's my answer! I own both now and I've been playing them for months. I consider Volca Bass more musical and Uno Synth more oriented to experiment. What I mean is, with Volca Bass with almost no knowledge on synthesis I could create and record music in no time. With Uno Synth I needed to study a little and practice but now I have passion for this synth because I can do almost anything. Right now I prefer Uno Synth because I feel that possibilities are endless and Volca Bass in comparison seems simple. In terms of sound, same thing: With Volca Bass you will have amazing sounds in minutes, and you will have maybe more fun in the beginning; with Uno Synth you will need to "fight" a little with the instrument to find what you are searching for but the work really worth it, and you will learn a lot in the process.

Love the sound of the UNO, it sounds like something twice its price and really has lots of features for its price. 2 complete ADSR's and the variable waveforms are really cool features at that price. I just wish they had made everything available from the front panel, even if that meant a bit of menu diving. Parameters like filter keyboard tracking, velocity routing and PWM really open the synth up. Still, it's hard to beat at its price. I just assigned the missing knobs to my MIDI controller (MPK 61) so I don't have to deal with the editor. Works great!

I’ve both the uno and bass and only got them recently has I’m just starting out with synths & do love them both.. my only thing is now which to daisy chain the uno into??
I have an SH-01, volca bass, volca modular, behringer TD3, Roland TR-08recently the brute of the behringer RD-9!!
Any help would be very appreciated and congratulations on taking the sober path dude❤ I myself got sick of the demons chasing me although it’s early days for me.. great informative video there buddy.. nice one, keep the faith 🎹🎛🎹🤙🏼💯

I'd buy both cause I like the volcas, the Uno though serves to many other perposes, can't compare them.. the volca looks definitely cooler than the Uno.. it's metal face and knobs is like a piece of Jewellery. gotta love the volca design..

Even though they have their differences, I use my UNO as the master and bass as a slave through MIDI. They compliment each other so well. One panned right, the other left. Just don't let the volca sequencer run while it's following the UNO. Introduces a slight delay in the volca for some reason. And record briyng on on the UNO does strange things to the volca, for sure.
