My mom came to this country at the age of 42 with nothing. Winters in Kansas can be very cold, we couldn't afford gas so we would all sleep in the same bed to stay warm. She became a barber and started her business with no loans from the bank, just a little spot in the hood. Five years later she had six employees. Fifteen years later she had three homes. It takes hard work, most people don't want to hear it, but that's what it takes.

I know a dude who started mowing yards during high school. When he graduated he had enough money and skill to expand into other areas of yard work and started a business. He is doing well for himself now and is expanding into pool maintenance.

It also takes time. Not everyone can be the person that gets rich in their 20’s. You have to build a solid foundation for your future in those years.

Also, don't injure yourself in your early 20s.

Those three things that are the biggest barriers to success: kids too early and out of wedlock; drugs and alcohol; getting into the legal system. Nearly everyone who struggles has at least one if these things happening.

I had ALL of these things. Successful as a nurse and worked hard for years. Then got diagnosed with serious health complications which I’m still dealing with and everything has been taken away. I was extremely financially responsible, waited for everything, and worked ridiculously hard. I don’t hear many people talk about the curve ball of health complications.

Also don't get seriously sick for your whole life, don't have any disabilities, don't get injured while working...

People forget how much opportunity there actually is in the US. Almost every major corporation is in the US, most of the top colleges are in the US etc. Not everyone can be rich but you have the best chance in the US

Add tremendous work ethic, over a long period of time.

Most people don't want to "get rich." They simply want to not be poor or live paycheck to paycheck.

The truth about getting rich is it’s like speaking another language, you have no idea how to do it. But you could learn it if you took the time too. And it’s a shame we don’t learn either in school

America is actually the best country on earth to build wealth, if you can’t make it in America you can’t make it in any other place on earth

he ain't wrong. I was a not so great high school student and failed plenty of college classes on my 5 year plan and ended up getting into programming during college. my degree is a business major (MIS) and I got a job as a programmer and fell in love. love doing it, there's always a ton of need, and honestly it is seen as 'hard' but let me tell yall it ain't. anyone can do it. combine that with good relationship decisions and you'll be good to go

This is how I overcame the ‘gender pay gap’ aka women gravitating toward jobs that pay less. I went into a trade field, and yeah, I do get undervalued sometimes compared to my male colleagues, but at the end of the day I have a valuable skillset. People make comments about me on the job site. I just do my job well and wipe my tears with the money. Ladies, if you’re able bodied, don’t let anyone scare you off from work like plumbing. It’s too lucrative to let that shit stop you.

1st Step. Majority of folks who complete all 3; those folks are now considered Lower class. Only 20 years ago those would be comfortable middle class....
Skillset folks are now Barely Middle-class. Work twice as hard & Network.
