Atlas Midrise Lift

Greetings folks, here is a quick demonstration of the Atlas Midrise Lift purchased from Greg Smith Equipment March 2012. The lift retails around $2K plus shipping ($400 to Corpus Christi, TX). Fast shipping time, 6 days. Weight is about a 1000-1100 lbs. I used my trailer to pick it up from a local truck terminal and with a crane lift from Harbor Freight I managed to set it up inside the garage. So far, device works great. Disadvantage is the heavy weight so it is extremely difficult to move it around my garage. Lift comes with 2 worthless small caster wheels which can be attached for north-south movement but not laterally. I just used a couple of square looking small dollies from Harbor Freight instead for moving this lift around. So glad I have a lift now to save time and effort for future car maintenance projects. No more jack stands, yes!!!!

Yeah, with a weight of 1000 plus lbs, i didn't think it would be. I like this lift because it allows you to work on the components in the middle of the car. For example the trans and exhaust. I have a ceiling height of 96 inches. I think I could still use it my garage. Just won't be able to lift my SUV all the way when in the garage. However it should be good enuf for my mustangs. How high is your garage ceiling height?
Thanks for your response and more importantly your service to our country.

Were you able to drive right up on it without having to use 2x6 boards?

Not easy to move around at al. Casters are useless. Plan on leaving it in one place.
