Ok, this is what some of you southerners have been asking for. The Kentucky Hot Brown is here and it's beautiful. I know, I know, it's supposed to be made with smoked turkey and not fried, but why not?! I hope you enjoy the video and be sure to drop a comment.

1 whole chicken breast
1/2 cup flour
1 cup panko break crumbs
1 tsp chopped rosemary and thyme
1 whole egg

1 cup milk

Can’t beat chicken, bacon, and cheese on the same dish! 👍

Never had chicken on a hot brown- only turkey. Looks good!

Tip for flattening chicken breasts: I've found that putting it in a Ziplock bag with a little bit of oil on each side of the chicken lets you pound without tearing. Work from the middle part towards the edges. (This Kentucky Hot Brown looks amazing!)

As a KY there is no chicken in a hot brown so thank you for putting that in the description 😂😂😂😂 but this does look like a yummy chicken sandwich ❤

A croque-madame minus the egg is in fact a croque-monsieur...

Yea, Kentucky is a whole lot more relevant to Tennessee than it is to California.

I have a question are you not doing a traditional KY hot drown ?? I all ways had it with turkey and every place here in Louisville has made it with turkey.

You're rendering fat out of the bacon, so why not use the bacon fat for the bechamel and/or to fry the chicken?

I checked on Google, and the authentic Kentucky Hot Browns DO NOT have fried chicken. NO. The authentic Kentucky Hot Brown does not include fried chicken. Instead, a Kentucky Hot Brown is an open-faced sandwich made with turkey, bacon, tomatoes, Mornay sauce, and cheese, AND just like boiled crawfish is authentic to Louisiana.... and you will be laughed at if you get it wrong - An authentic Kentucky Hot Brown Sandwich MUST be made correctly.

Turkey: Roast turkey is typically used

Bacon: Crispy bacon is a key ingredient

Tomatoes: Lightly charred tomatoes are a traditional component

Mornay sauce: A creamy sauce made with butter, flour, heavy cream, whole milk, and cheese

Cheese: Melted cheese is usually added

Bread: Thick-sliced bread, such as Texas toast or white sandwich bread, is commonly used

Hot Brown Sandwich: Fred K. Schmidt created the Kentucky Hot Brown in 1926 at the Brown Hotel in Louisville, Kentucky.

nahhhh after watching it all I can safely say you've completely let go of the channel, all that bacon for just 2 slices, so much unnecessary aestethics, you've lost all authenticity, mate. You don't even show how you're cooking the bechamel and you drizzle maybe 1/10 of it.... what happened to the top of the bread too? Aren't big time chefs supposed to be mindful of waste?
