Different sent of eyes…critical. I followed this credo when I built my RV-4 and and I followed it when I shared a hangar with your buddy Doug. He’s anA&p and I always asked him to “take a look” on every condition inspection or when the cowl was off, even though I built my airplane. Incidentally, his Luscombe is faster than your “mighty Luscombe.” GREAT CHANNEL, KEEP IT UP!

Juan, I have learned so much from you since I first saw your videos from the 2019 Reno Air Races! Subbed back then. You are a very “Sharp” intellectual guy while being very sincere and down to earth! Having lost our home in the Santa Rosa wild fires in 2107 and having moved to Carson City, NV to get away from the wild fires we have REALLY appreciated your Caldor and Dixie fire updates. Your YT channel is my favorite! You have made such a positive impact to my family!
God bless you and your family!

Somebody’s damn proud of his plane - I can tell by your smile every time you call her by name: Mighty Luscombe! Always Happy Landings, Sir!

Never ceases to amaze me how straightforward aviation piston engines are compared to what’s in a modern car. Still, everything has to be absolutely right.

Blowby tube, geez, haven't seen one of those in decades. Not since I inherited my dad's 1962 Ford in 1970.

Excellent, hope the motor mounts resolve your cowl rub 👍🏻

I don't use tie wraps on engine mounts . Over time they will make a groove in the mount . I know it doesn't seem possible but it happens. On the Lockheed 1011 we had stainless steel hyd lines in the pylons and they had teflon cushions in the clamps. The teflon didn't wear but the teflon made wear marks on the lines . They changed the teflon to some type of rubber which worked better . But I enjoy all of your videos Keep up the good work And thanks

Love those Silvaires. I had an Aero Commander Lark in for annual at a friend's hangar. He found the Lord mounts of it's Lycoming 180 hp 4 cylinder were nearly gone. A supplier had 4 in stock at $600.00 each. They were ordered; fortunately, he kept searching. An old timer had a bag full at $40.00 apiece. He got four and returned them to the original supplier/crook. My mechanic saved me $2, 240.00 in parts: that's an airplane pro. Never stop searching is what I learned.

All newer planes come with steel fittings on the fuel system. There stronger don't melt, crack or strip like aluminum. Also firesleeve is a good idea on the fuel lines. My personal choice is type D hoses which are lifetime. Made of stainless & teflon. You have type C rubber life limited hoses.

Great video of the engineering involved. Thanks

Hopefully new motor mounts fix the exhaust rubbing issue.

Such a simple engine in comparison to modern cars. It must be fun to work on.

Might want to put fire sleeve on that fuel line.

The most important thing is would you let Lt. Pete pilot it afterwards. I had a pilot at work who said if we screwed up as mechanics he was going to aim for us as he crashed. Not to brag but he did shake my hand and said thanks a couple of times when I found an Oops! in the making. helicopters, 10, 000 piece trying to go in 1, 000 directions all at the same time.

Ahhhh it's so nice you are in CA.
Here in Fla, it's a whole different animal.. salt air just kills the airframe here..
Been a long time since I've played with mags...

Very cool - thx. How much does the inspector cost? How much is a new set of tires? How many years does a set a tires last for you? What oil do you use in that motor?

Very true! Some learn the hard way! I just did the starter and alternator upgrade on my o200. I should have had a better pre purchase inspection 100% agree with you
