Ariel Helwani reacts to breaking news of Bellator champ Patricio 'Pitbull' finally being released from his PFL contract. Pitbull is now free to speak to UFC, although Ariel reports PFL may have retained a right-to-match whatever UFC offers.

Before Demetrious Johnson was traded, Patricio Pitbull was probably legitimately the greatest fighter outside of the UFC. I know time is no fighter's friend but I wish him the best wherever he goes. I've had fun watching him ever since he debuted in Bellator. I'd love to see him be the second Bellator champion to become a UFC one, as hard as that'll be now.

Pitbull could also go to Rizin. He has a win over their current Featherweight Champion, and he's been asking for the Suzuki rematch for a while. One of the powder legs that led to this drama was PFL pulling out of the NYE show. UFC and RIZIN are the only legitimate options. ONE is a joke, even if they wanted MMA guys.
