Remember to install the rest of the engine tins and motor compartment seal, believe it or not, makes a difference in the engine temps. Great project, I love the old air coolers!

Where are you now? I wouldn’t stress the breakin to much. Needs to be put under a load to really seat the rings. However. If it’s running really rich because of the high elevation that is especially bad on a fresh hone of the cylinders an could lead to cylinder washing. Buttt the throttle seems snappy so it seems to be at a good mixture as is
