Jorge Reyes Valencia (September 24, 1952 – February 7, 2009) was a Mexican ambient electronic musician. Pioneer in this filed, Reyes incorporated pre-Hispanic instruments to his work such as the teponaztli [tepoˈnast͡ɬi] which is a type of slit drum, turtle shells, stones, rattles, ocarinas, trumpets, conch shells, wind whistles, funerary flutes, double flutes, and the tlapitzalli which is an aerophone.

Jorge Reyes legacy started with Ek-Tunkúl (1983) his first solo album. The music from this video comes from the soundtrack of The Other Conquest (Spanish: La Otra Conquista) which is a 1999 Mexican historical drama film. Sacrificio is track number 5 composed and interpreted by Reyes.

On 16:16 Ariane mentions that The Instituto Nacional de Antropología e Historia (INAH, National Institute of Anthropology and History) has made an inventory of all Reyes instruments and that these instruments are genuinely pre-Hispanic.

Tenochtitlan also know as México-Tenochtitlan was the capital city of the Aztec Empire and it was the largest city of all the pre-Columbian cultures in the American continent.

The exact date of the founding of the city is unclear. The date March 13, 1325 was chosen in 1925 to celebrate the 600th anniversary of the city. The city was built on an island in what was then Lake Texcoco in the Valley of México.

México City has been the capital city of the Aztec Empire, the Viceroyalty of New Spain, the capital of the first and the second Mexican Empires, now is the capital city of a Republic.

Being a Mexican citizen myself. I simply want to create a visual timeline of my country so I can have a cleared understanding of its history. Do not take my assemblage/editing skill as being 100% historically accurate. I am a visual artist and I do not claim to be a historian.

Le talentueux musicien Jorge Reyes a réussi à restituer la véritable musique du Mexico ancien, le chef historien Rodrigo Llanes Castro a ressuscité la très haute gastronomie mexica et son protocole sophistiqué, Juan Quezada a rendu vivante à nouveau une certaine céramique de Mata Ortiz et l'a porté à un degré de perfection comparable à celle de Chine ou du Japon. Peu à peu, c'est la haute culture des hauts plateaux du Mexique précolombien qui revient à la vie. Les survivants de l'holocauste n'ont plus qu'à s'en emparer pour éblouir le monde entier. A great civilization that deserves to be correctly remembered. An exceptionally well-done video. History needs to be presented honestly, the bad with the good. Leaving out the blood sacrifice and human sacrifice presents an incomplete picture. History cannot be represented solely by what we choose to remember.
