This is a rather interesting idea especially because most media about liminal spaces use more threatening entity's but the concept of someone inhabiting the places between our memories is sorta interesting less outright hostile and more unknown

I love how the theater creature looks all fancy and classy but it eats popcorn and candy off the floor.

Does anyone else notice that the three images she chose are like the three extremes of liminal spaces? You have the vivid feverish space (theatre), the bright but unsettling space (the school) and the dark and murky space (the cave). Idk if this was intentional but either its amazing, like the three monsters make up some liminal space council

I feel like the first one crawls around on the walls & ceiling. He tries to blend in with those squares on the ceiling and steals your popcorn when nobody's looking

The indoor tennis center I play at feels like a liminal space. It's always dark, there are no windows, it's dusty and kind of hard to breathe in. You have absolutely no concept of time. You enter when it's dark and leave when it's dark.

I’ve always thought about the liminal spaces, but never about the potential monsters that lurk within the places. Seeing the thumbnail, those two creatures look so cool for being so creepy

The last photo almost gives me anti-liminal vibes, like “something wants me to be here, ” and that’s almost more exhilarating. I think it’s the gate, or maybe the light. Great work on these!

I imagine the second one being in a spooky horror game/school simulator, where in the start it's mentioned how prestigious it is, and how clean it always is. Farther into the game you get to talk to the janitor, where he tells you about he's not the one cleaning, and how "she" does it. You would sneak into the school after hours and see the janitor and rose just talking while cleaning the halls.

I really love how the tunic is done, this may/may not be intentional but when the top is folded like that (left over right) it means that the person wearing it is dead, which is a cool detail

the theatre monster stole my heart and I love him and I hope he enjoys all the movies he sees. I imagine his name could be Theadore because he adores... the theatre... but 100% would read his movie reviews! 💜

Once when I was in elementary school, we had this “after school” party with just my class. So we stayed after until like 9 pm, and we watched movies just as a class. We all ate pizza for dinner, and when we were done I was given the task of taking the pizza boxes down to the trash. So I had to walk down the halls of the school at night. It was weird because there were only a few lights still on. Some the the halls had a light or two on and others were pitch black. I found it really cool and creepy, but that was one of my experiences with liminal spaces

I feel like it would be scarier if it didn't. Imagine you're lost underground, you can only see because of a dying flashlight. You find this gate. You almost hope this gate will do something, a portal will be there, but nothing happens. The wave of realization rushes over you as you realize nothing will happen and nobody knows where you are.

I like to imagine the first character's suit texture isn't like a normal fabric, and that it moves when he does. Every time you look at it, it shifts a bit! Kind of like some of the textures in Chowder, but more spontaneous and random. It could start to move faster whenever he gets agitated or scared, too!

Entering the backrooms and hanging out with these characters sounds fun, honestly. I’d like to watch a movie with the theater man or listen to stories from the cave ghost as he knits.

Edit: Y’all have convinced me that I need to write a fanfic. I love these characters too much now.

Lavender is actually a really skilled because the amount of creativity she puzzles into all of her drawings is really amazing like its so inspiring..
