I love this quote
"Consistent 'bare minimum' will give you better results than consistently waiting for the 'right' circumstances. "

It’s very good that your willing to share the hard stuff on the internet because not everyone will

Lateral raises are the bane of all gym bros. You're not alone

"Be brave enough to suck at something new"

Very good advice that I saw somewhere.

Can’t stress enough how important it is to lower your expectations with what you can do in the very beginning of your strength journey. Correct form is everything.

I showed my son this video, he's 17 in 2 weeks and struggles with always thinking he's messing up. You make him know he's not alone. We love watching your vids!

Not to diminish your message because you're 100% right, adventure time Jake taught a whole generation of kids and adults "the first step to being kind of good at something is being bad at something" and that changed my life

I can't tell you how much that helped me today.

I Went to a gym for the first time in years (severe anxiety and recovering from PTSD) and the trainer basically called me a lazy fata$$ because going once a week is what I can manage for now.

I'm finally crying the tears I didn't know I was holding back all day.

I'll be going back but I'll be training without his help from now on.

That’s three more than I did today. So color me impressed. The only person to compare yourself with is yourself.

Lateral raises are like one of the hardest lifts to do for a given weight so that’s actually not as bad as you think.

notice how she says "your struggling because *your not where you want to be*" instead of "your bad at it" that language is really powerful at changing your mindset, thankyou elyse!❤

I think of this video periodically and it helps me want to keep working on my health, even though I have to start small.

I always tell my kids they have to get through the suck. The suck is always there in the beginning, and you just have to be ok with being bad, and your reward is getting good!

This is where you start!! So proud of you! I’m coming back from an illness and back to my 3lb weights. We’ll get there!

You're a real one. I showed this to my nine year old daughter. She smiled because I think the energy in your hyped up voice resonates with her ADHD mind. ❤

As someone who is an artist, has been since I was 5, it is quite opening that now I hear people compliment my art. Sometimes hearing ‘I wish I can draw like that’. I say it is eye opening because I was in their exact position when I first started out in my journey. I told myself I wanted to be better. Consistency, education, practice is what got me where I am. If you want to change something in your life, if you want to be better at something you can, it is all based on the work you’re willing to put in. Even though what I’m sharing is not related to fitness I thought I’d share because I think it can be applied to not just art but anything that requires hard work. Take care friends 🤝
