I really like the sincerity of this ‘intimate’ chat. If only all manufacturers provided someone like this to interview

Should have asked why as Canadians we get shafted on the warranty, when compared to The USA.

Great interview, we definitely need more interviews like this from manufacturers locally!

I don't like these somewhat info-commercial interviews but kudos to Zack and Thomas this was a refreshing genuine conversation. Enough to make me a potential VW customer so Thomas, good job, sincerely.

This was very informative video, it's nice to get some insight from the manufacturer on why certain models are packaged the way they are; no something I've every really seen or read much of on in the past. Keep up the good work!

Sidenote, that looked like a tonne of fun!

Zack, great channel, great to have a Canadian reviewing Canadian cars. I’d love to see more content with real winter conditions. These winter tracks are a good start but how does a vehicle handle Rogers Pass? What’s it like to drive after a snow/ chinook cycle turns all the Calgary streets to ice? What should we consider when purchasing snow tires? Things to look for when test driving a car in winter... I think you get my “drift”; a greater focus on car reviews in real Canadian winter conditions would be awesome. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Great q and a. Glad to have gotten the answer as to why NA didn't get a power bump in the 2018 golf r. Maybe when we get the mk8 golf r :)

Great video! Now tell this putz to bring more options to the Golf R. Seats and sunroof please!

Even my MK6 golf R is incredible. Going from a MK5 GTI to this is incredible. Never lost traction, even in snow and pouring rain. HPA haldex competition controller makes it a beast. If anyone wants to give me a MK7 golf R, I will give you a hug.

I'm an American and I love manual transmissions and I also love wagens...yes, I'm part of a very small minority but I see myself faithful to VW as long as they keep the product(s) available...keep pricing in check, make the car desirable and I will be a returning customer when my 04 GTI is due for replacement

why isn't the north american golf r not equipped with the dynamic rear tail lights like they have it in europe even though it is the top dog in the golf family? also why isn't digital cockpit available in GTI as an option?

Hi. You mentioned that 4Motion can send 100% of its power to the rear wheels (up to 265 lb-ft). But many other articles I read about the Alltrack state that only 50% of the power can be sent to the rear. Which is it? Do you get your information direct from VW?

I've been looking at getting a 2nd car to add to my truck, I will be looking at the Golf R and often wondered what the 4Motion will be like with winter driving in Canada, I had a 2016 WRX and that AWD system was awesome on winter roads, I do like the look of the stealth Golf R with more refinement and hand me down Audi tech.

I can understand VW being cautious on bringing the higher performance Golf R after dieselgate.

The new Arteon has been revealed too and will most likely have standard 4Motion. However, I've been on their site and they say it will start from under 48'000$... I'm sorry but even though I'm a diehard VW fan, the Stinger GT (3.3T with 365hp) starts at 45k while the Arteon (FWD based on top of that) is only a 2.0T with around 245-265hp. If the 2.0T Stinger (255hp) ever gets available in Canada, it should start around 38k. 10 000 $ is a huge difference in this class

You’ve asked why, and I mean « WHY » like in : « What is the REAL reason » we are not getting a sunroof in the Golf R or even better: « When » will we finally get one, but he didn’t answer that question in the end... Can you tell us anything about that and also, will we see a 350 hp Golf R anytime soon in Canada like it seems they’re going to get in Europe ? Thank you!
