This episode brought tears to my eyes & a lump in my throat. Being a retired emergency nurse & EMT, I know first hand that the words “we have a pulse” are the sweetest words there are and doesn’t happen every time. Excellent teamwork!

Those compressions that the former lifeguard did in the water before getting him out of the ocean probably saved his life. That was able to get some precious oxygen to his brain before getting him onto the beach. The ability to do cpr in the water is everything.

Amazing resuscitation…to hear the guy talk about what was going through his head while he was drowning was just spiritual…these lifeguards are truly incredible!

As a career firefighter medic, I was really moved and impressed with these rescuers. The do an amazing job in less than ideal conditions, but, this is testimony to their fine training. I've trained many young medics, hoping they will perform this well when it counts. Much respect to these guys, amazing job !

Hearing him tell the story at the end is mind blowing. That should play on repeat on giant screens at the entrances to the beach. No one is allowed past until they’ve watched this entire story.

This brought back memories of when I was at home, got chest pain and rang the ambulace. When they got three I went into a massive Cadiac arrest. I was classed as clinically dead. I don't remember the first week as I was in an induced coma. The day before I was discharged the parmedicic that did CPR on me came to see me. I will be forever grateful to him and owe my live to them. I now have a defibrillator inserted. We can't thank the first aiders enough for what they do for us. ❤

This makes me weep with joy. Thank God this neat young man was saved.

When I was 14, at a summer camp on a large lake in Canada, I arrived at the water's edge just after a had boat flipped and two of the three occupants had been rescued. Campers and counselors were frozen in fear as the adults frantically looked for the third. The first aid expert told us he had nine minutes. We counted those minutes one by one. It was awful, awful, awful.

The next day was Sunday and those of us who were Catholic loaded on a bus and went to church. As we drove by the lake we saw, in the near distance, divers pull his body into a boat.

I'm 66 now. I have never forgotten a second of it. Nor the feeling of nauseous black doom when I knew he was dead.

It’s absolutely amazing to see the young guys at their peak performance like this. What’s even more amazing is to see how skilled the older guys are after countless rescues.
I’m humbled by their outstanding sense of humanity💕

GOD the breath of relief I let out at the end when he was finally able to just laugh and say “oh my god I was dead” also so crazy to hear him describe the peace of drowning as “comfortable” I’ve heard before that after the panic of breathing water in you relax but I’ve never heard it first hand!!

You Lifeguard's are truly over-the-top AMAZING! Truly respect is due to all of you, for the major risks you take rescuing and saving those who need help risking your own lives and safety to go above and beyond, saving, protecting and warning others. Unbelievable HONOR you all deserve and aren't recognized for enough for all you do, so here's one more THANK YOU by someone who's never even been to Australia or Bondi. Just AWESOME dedication, teamwork and total WELL DONE that's not nearly said or heard enough to you all!

Just finished First Aid training and it's scary to see what it looks like in real life but also "interesting" to see in real than just simulating on the dummu. Glad he is okay and well done all rescuers for their incredible team work!! 🧡

Starting at 11:58, one of the most dramatic and scary rescues I remember watching, other than the married couple and the sister of the woman. But children rescues always bring more tears for me. They are supposed to be protected and our brains know that, I think.
