My niece was sex trafficked for 4 years, to this day we are thankful to the 2 willing sex workers who helped her escape. She was 12 when she was taken, she came home with them at almost 17. We had to put in rehab for her severe drug addiction that was forced on her, and because of all she went through she had to have a full hysterectomy. But she is now drug free, just graduated from college and recently engaged to a wonderful young man who knows everything and takes amazing care of her. We even helped 1 of the girls to get sober and back to a better life. Sadly the other young lady didn't survive her addiction, but we made sure she had a beautiful resting place that we still go to regularly.

Survivor of human trafficking here. I been to the hospital plenty of times when I was being trafficked and doctors didn’t give 2 craps because I was always positive for drugs. The traffickers kept me drugged but because there is a stigma towards people who use drugs, I was deemed for not being worthy of help! I escaped when I was 18 years old but had a drug habit. I got off drugs when I was 19. I’m now 42 and I advocate for victims of human trafficking and people who use drugs!

I went to a human trafficking conference in high school. It blew my mind, For instance It never occurred to me that women are the best traffickers of children because even if the baby is of a different skin tone most people will just assume the child is hers, nobody questions women with children. Really made me look at airport seating alot differently.

It’s taken a lot of years of anguish & embarrassed mental therapy to get at least some semblance of relief & normalcy. I still have nightmares, night sweats, & some PTSD from what happened to me. I remember this happening on a plane where a flight attendant wrote a note for a girl in the bathroom, and the police were waiting when the plane landed. She could just tell something was wrong, and she saved that young girl's life. Hero.
