My grandmother started living in Paris (Montmartre) in 1947, she had left France in 1936, sold their business and moved out to the North of England in Saddleworth near Oldham. In 1947 the family moved back to Paris. I lived in England for 12 years from 1971 to 1983 and I got to learn the English culture, the strong national pride, the sense of belonging… I was born in England but lived in Ireland and France. I haven’t been back to England for 11 years. I miss England, and my hope is to see it remain a standard of education culture and quality. Keep England English, because English are warm decent people
