Fantastic review! That looks like the perfect bike for Moab and St. George. Being able to get over square hits while climbing is very important to me. Thats the main thing I didn't like about the 1st gen Hightowers.

I bought the rascal a few weeks ago and am super impressed with it. I pulled the trigger knowing that I’d be dealing with stay at home order and I’m not about to do that without a new bike.

I’ve ridden a 2019 Kona Process 153 for the past couple years and the rascal is definitely a bike I can ride 20+ miles without fatigue. In comparison to the process, my weight is more centered over the bb and it climbs a little faster. Descending I feel more centered and I feel that’s due in large part to the longer chainstay. Kona is a bottomless descender but rascal is faster and more stable.

Beautiful bike, but incredibly expensive. I custom built my Ripmo and it's just so good and way cheaper than what Pivot offers. I also found that the Ripmo is way more agile than any other trail bike I've ridden, and still incredibly capable on the high speed tech descents. Just tune that suspension well.

And thanks for your recommendation for the Lab Austere hip pack. Way more comfortable than my Dakine, and surprisingly a lot of storage. Best pack I've ever had

Rode a 2019 model at Outerbike. Really fun bike! If I didn't have my RA, the new model may have been a bike I would consider buying. New one looks even better.

Amazing how efficient all the Pivot long travels bike climb and pedal flats. That DW Link is worth the money. My Firebird29 pedals just as good my XC Scott. So many quiver killers from Pivot to choose from...
