How to Add Zeros for Missing Time Series Data

When working with time series data, Tableau understands how to populate dates that don't exist. For example, if you have sales for Jan 3 and Jan 5, Tableau can "add" data for Jan 4.

Great! But then you want to show zero in that cell. This tip shows you how to do just that.

Hi Andy - I'm trying to plot sales over a timeseries but the axis only show dates where there is data, how can I get around this issue? So for example if you were to plot 'Copiers' in your video over a time series it would start from May 2017. How can you ensure if plots 0 from Jan - April 2017? Thanks again

I think this works for non time series data as well, I remember using a combination of ZN and Lookup function on a normal crosstab.
