The pattern is, when you were rich, Soviet bad, when you were poor, soviet good

His story sounds like the Afghan stories. His life and family are similar. Even his house looks like the old Afghan homes.

"We were rich. Tsar was good. Serfs always worked for us and usury made us even richer."

He wasn't targeted for being Jewish, he was targeted for being rich and hoarding wealth.

Uzbekistan I’d say perhaps the most hospitable country in the world. How they behaved themselves during WW2 is heroic. Many movies has been filmed about it.Each Uzbek family accepted Russian orphans and gave them the best

Sound like what Israel did to the Palestinians

Don't miss his point. Even after losing family wealth, he still thinks Russia was good because people got more human and religious rights!

Time for my favorite game with these types. When you say, "they confiscated all our houses" do you mean "they confiscated everyone's houses" or "they confiscated all my families multiple different houses, because guess what, we were piece of shit landlords"?

This old man only knew something, but not everything.

Working class people generally didn't have their homes confiscated. Only the rich capitalists. The Soviets began a huge social housing program and a large number of people moved out of their private homes into their government ones because they were warmer, more modern and had central heating. People could follow their religion, you wouldn't go to jail for it unless you evangelised or something. However, religion was strongly discouraged: the Soviet Union was officially an atheist country.

Is that where Israel learned to steal their land from the Palestinians?
