Vote 2024: The science and security behind the UK general election exit poll

The Exit Poll will be the first big moment of election night and the clearest indicator of how the parties have done and who could form the next government.

Commissioned by the broadcasters - Sky, BBC and ITV - the fieldwork is carried out by IPSOS UK who will have interviewers at 133 polling stations around the country this year.

I'm a taxi driver, I'm conservative all day, every one I've talked to in last month are voting reform bar may be 5 or 6. I can't understand these polls, I've had at least 600 people, all I get is reform and I mean no changing your mind reform all immigration.
