We are visiting Taiwan right now. This place, should be a world heritage site. It is the hope for the world. I always thought Chinese culture to be crude, before coming here. The people here are polite, and charming. The temples, and spirituality, are sincere.
If China was like Taiwan. We could have a really good chance, at peace and harmony.

It would be curious to see what happened to the debt owed to China by the west if they went into an indirect conflict, for example a Taiwan struggle similar to Ukraine. The west was quick to hurt Russia financially so if the USA and China were at odds then it seems natural to me that the USA would just state that all debt owed to China was forfeited. You're not going to pay money to a country that is actively physically fighting against you and your interests. So China must be willing to forfeit any debt they hold with the US government if they push this.
