I have had both services and CDMA has fewer dropped calls and better voice quality. With CDMA your signal is spread over the entire band with each bit of data having a unique code. You can talk on more than one tower at the same time. GSM used TDMA (Time division multiple access) which divides your call into time slot (pauses data) on a given frequency (supports 8 calls on freq). You can only talk on one tower at a time and you're more likely to drop a call when handing off to another tower.

thanks man helped me out alot jus got a iphone and i had one already but was at&t so the one i had got lost and i got this new one and its cdma plus its verison so im pissed because erybody tryied talkin to me like im stupid and u proved them wrong, worng carrier and wrong whatever u would call it should of been gsm period so again thanks.

The concept of GSM RULES over cdma BUT i live in a rural area and unfortunately don"t get GSM signal for ANY carrier at my house. 1/4 mile down the road is a different story. So I am forced to use Verizon because their service covers a larger area but they also cost more GREAT VIDEO!!!
