Tunisia is rapidly becoming a key transit point for migrants who wish to cross the Mediterranean into Europe due to the instability in neighbouring Libya. Dozens of people have gone missing or died in repeated drowning accidents off the Tunisian coast. The most recent incident left four people dead and 23 others missing after two boats sank while trying to cross to Italy.
