Taliban Hold Parade at Former US Base in Afghanistan

The Taliban celebrated the third anniversary of its return to power at a former U.S. air base in Afghanistan on Wednesday, but there was no mention of the country’s hardships or promises of hope for the struggling population. The Bagram parade was also an opportunity to showcase some of the military hardware abandoned by U.S. and NATO-led forces after decades of war: helicopters, Humvees and tanks. The Taliban took back control of the country in August 2021 when American forces pulled out.

This isn't the first time we armed the Taliban. The first time was directly in the 1980s. This time, more indirectly. Now, I wonder how many of those Taliban were former Afghan Security Forces. My guess is most.
