This week we are building us a desk! It's been a while since we built a piece of furniture for us so it was quite nice. We needed a long desk so the two of us could sit and work at the same time. We also wanted a little bit of storage because the office doesn't have any right now. The style we are going for is a little scandinavian and a little modern mix. Thank you guys so much for watching!

BUILD PLANS: Material cost $100-$150

Bruhs, y'all complaining about the minimal tools bit.
This is minimal tools. 99% of other woodworking channels will call a desk "DIY", and then proceed to use a planer, jointer, top level table saw, table router, air compressed nailers, miter saw, band saw, edge banding, 47 parallel clamps, 34 years of experience, a handy sponsor, premium grade lumber they already went to a lumber yard for, all on top of a $2, 000 workbench that they're actually using the channel to sell you.
Want more minimal than this? You're more than welcome to build this thing with a hammer, chisel, and handsaw with some 2x4s from Home Depot.
Quality woodworking doesn't come from the lazy or half-hearted.

i like how she says everyone goes through difficult patches in a project. especially if it's something new, that is so true! I always get frustrated when learning a new craft, but i tell myself "this is me learning. it's part of the process"

Finally someone did NOT use Alex drawers from IKEA. I have been looking for this type of setup.

Ignore all the negative comments. For what tools you had to work with I think you did a fantastic job. This is sorta the type of desk I'm going to be building when we move into our new building.

I'm subscribed to a lot of makers on YouTube, but I'm most excited to watch your videos-- and no one else inspires me like Woodbrew.

An idea for cutting out the slot for the drawer sliders: drill out the end point before cutting the slots, and then file away the rounded corners after. I know it is a little late now, but it may help someone else later.

all these people complaining about the title are missing the point I think. It's a nice desk, showed good problem solving, and I came away with a couple of ideas. That's the purpose of showing these vids. Good Job!!

Great video! A piece of foam under those boards you're using a circular saw on would make your life a lot easier

Love this build. For those who don't want to kill themselves with a hand plane, but don't own a jointer or planer, I've had GREAT luck with local woodworking shops letting me use their stuff in a limited way. The point of this build is to do it with limited stuff, and I get that, but never be afraid to ask others for assistance if you're just starting out. Most of the people I've asked don't bat an eye if it's a personal project!

An elegant, classy piece of furniture.

All you need is the circular saw, glue, a square, screws and a screwdriver. The fancy corner braces are fluff, and forget the cordless nailer. As you glue the strips together, screw them together, that'll will eliminate the need for long clamps and the result is less, if any, planing afterwards. For the drawer runners, just glue them in to the inside of the cabinet. For the legs look, for other video for ideas if you don't own a forstner bit and the 18v drill needed to use it. Nice video, and the final desk looks nice.

Great job guys!! You two make it look so easy, even when you run into an issue. The more I watch the two of you the more inspired I become. Thank you!

I know there seems to be a lot of people giving you advise...I just think it's awesome that you guys are just doing it. You get better with time, yet your ideas are way cool. I look forward to seeing what you come up with in the future!😎

Looks like a great little project. Ignore the negative comments. It's much easier to post a negative comment than it is to get off your butt and build something. I am buying a new home and need to kit out my home office. I plan to make it all myself

I thought it was great that you pointed out in almost every project there's going to be a few hiccups to figure away around and it's one of the things that keeps woodworking fresh in my humble opinion. Thanks for sharing your work and those drawer slides are awesome 👍🏾
