I have a question I’m hoping you can answer. In the NCAA, is there an exception to the ineligible receiver downfield penalty if the pass is completed behind the line of scrimmage? I’m arguing with my friends right now about this and are having trouble finding a definitive answer. Say the offense runs a tunnel screen to one of the outside receivers but an o-lineman reaches 5 yards downfield before the pass is thrown and caught behind the line of scrimmage. Is this a penalty?
