there was little to none restriction in june for tesla shanghai. production was going full steam. workers were taking covid test every 3 days but that didn't cause slow down to production.

OK Joe I have heard that before and I give Tesla credit for good growth; Im not sure about records though. Ford made 2 million Model Ts in one year, VW made 2 Million beetles in one year. Chevy made over a million Impala's in the first year of production, Ford Made over a million Fseries pickups in one year; these are individual models; Tesla's numbers are for all models combined; if you do that with Toyota they make 10 million cars a year. Tesla has the advantage of automated manufacturing while these earlier makers had to create special tooling and train people to make them..

When China is already 31% EV's you then know the real reason that gas prices are going up. 31% in the biggest car market in the world is huge. In order to maintain their profits oil companies have no choice to but to keep raising prices.

Not all new ideas are successful, but when it comes to EVs, I think that we are past that point of contemplation.
From 1900-1870 the American cars ruled the world.
In the 1970s the Japanese came with affordable, reliable cars and the Germans came with sporty luxury cars. Now the Chinese are coming with EVs that only Tesla can compete with.
A Tesla or a NIO or HongXi or HiPhi are awesome luxury cars, but not in the price range I'm looking for.
BYD and some others have worked their magic and managed to make a profit from EVs that we all can buy.
Making a great EV = "not much of a challenge", selling it at profit = "a great challenge". Just look at Rivian and Lucid stock prices

Could you be more specific about how big your investments in these companies are? Some people are saying they are invested, but it's like 100$ or less than 0.1% of their portfolio. If you don't want to disclose the exact amount, maybe just a % of your total portfolio?

I will be surprised if total Tesla production exceeds 2 million, I think it will be more like 1.5 million which is up some from last year but not that much, they still are back ordered also, so a sale inst a delivery

Tesla will produce 4 million vehicles next year.... GM's production rate is dropping, they only produced 6 million last year.... Tesla will out produce them by 2025!
