GARAGE SHOP LED Lighting Install | Amazon | Cheap & Bright | Garage Makeover pt. 2

As a part of my garage makeover I installed 15 Barina LED lights purchased on Amazon to improve the poor lighting.

These are the Barina T8 5,000k and 5,000 (4,800) lumen garage and shop lights. So far I am really pleased with the amount of light they produce and the overall quality. They were super easy to install, had many installation options and were pretty cheap. This was a project that anyone could do yourself in less than a weekend.

I now have somewhere between 72,000 and 75,000 lumens of light in the two car garage and it is amazing! 5000k was the correct color temp for me as it is easy on the eyes but still a very white light.

If you have any questions please let me know in the comments

Just got these same lights and I agree, the hardwire cable is no where near long enough. I had the same idea to use the switch plug they provided. Glad to see it worked out for you.

Hey Ryan, great video, I personally really like the Barina LED's. The fact that they run on 120V makes them a breeze to manage on the electrical side of things and the brightness and color matching are pretty spectacular for the price. As far as the interference with the garage door opener, that just has to do with the way the PWM drivers for the LED's work and they just happen to run in the same frequency range as the garage door opener. That's something that will happen with any light strip that you're going to get unfortunately. You could try using ferrite clamp on cores and ferrite toroids to reduce the amount of interference, but I'm not sure how well that will work with the sheer amount of lights you've got. Just an idea, maybe you could get a Wifi switch for the garage door opener and control the garage from your phone or google assistant. They're around 25-30 bucks, and just plug into your existing garage door opener. They're pretty worth it in my opinion, because mot only can you control the garage from your phone or smart assistant, but you also can get notifications for when the garage door is open. A buddy of mine set his up with the IFTTT app to open when his phone's GPS was in a designated range of his house that he set. Anyways, best of luck figuring out the issue and can't wait to see this great lighting in your future videos. Stay safe, and wash your hands!

Ryan, another fantastic video that was easy to follow along with. The Vette in those lights sure looks purty, looking forward to more videos in the future!

To correct your garage door opener for the car fob not working is to replace the opener unit with a new wifi version system (-:

I think it's perfect! When you're working inside your garage, you need the bright light.

Working on my final summer project list an this is a great help for garage lighting - thank you! I see the Kent State shirt and Summit Racing sticker - I've got personal connections to both!

Great video and just what I was looking for to do to my two car garage. Really like the cabinets and bench design. Did you build them? If so have you done a video of that or any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

3:30 Don't slice the jacket that far back.
Do a short slice near the end and pull the ends apart, it will tear down the length.
That way if you hit the conductors it will only be where you will strip them anyway

I bought the 4 foot 6 pack about a year and a half ago on amazon! Love them. I hooked mine up separate from my other LED A19 LEDs so that I didn't have to run them every time I was in the garage, just when I needed the extra light. (Hoping to get longer life out of them by not using them when not needed)

Great job on the video and I agree that it is better to have more light, than less light. That is a great looking JSB Z06. I have a '12 Grand Sport in Cyber Grey.

Good video. Thanks for sharing. Did you get the garage doors to work? If not, it could be when you cut off the electrical to install the lights, the garage door openers reset and now you need to re-program.

And That Tech Teacher said, "Let there be light"

You should put some on the garage door and just have an extension cord coming from the ceil garage door opener outlet. You can then plug it in when you have the door open and then unplug it when you need to closet the garage door. Since the garage door blocks the light when it’s open.

Wow, you should do some Fusion 360 videos. I’m just a newbie with it but your 3D modeled version of your garage looked amazing!

I don't have any actual advice about the interference, but I can say I had to change the LED bulb in my garage door opener. If that light was on, the remotes would barely work.

What software product did you use for the 3D modeling?

LED lights have high frequency drivers and that is what interferes with the radio signal from the garage door opener. The only way around that is to have the lights turned off if you want to use the wireless garage door opener. I have a similar amount of LED lighting in my garage and have the same issue as you.

Should have done a ring around the room instead of parallel lines so your workbench would not be so shadowed and shadows would be minimal everywhere in the space.
