We describe the relationship between equicontinuity and total boundedness of a set of continuous functions. We show that total boundedness under the uniform metric implies equicontinuity, while a partial converse holds when the domain space X is compact and the range space Y is totally bounded. We also give an example of a set which is NOT equicontinuous.
