I bought kiwis yesterday. They're one of my favorite fruits! Yummy!

have you ever had golden kiwi? they are amazing. The outside is still brown like a regular kiwi, but they are longer and slightly more narrow on the outside with a small calyx at the top. The flesh is bright yellow and incredibly sweet, if you can ever find them try them, they're superb.

I buy kiwi all the time for my smoothies and just for eating -- after peeling them. If you do eat them with the skin on you must be careful not to eat the thorn that is in the stem end. It is very sharp. I always carefully cut it out with my paring knife. I've never used a spoon to scoop out the fruit but I shall do so from now on. I found an old kiwi that was in the back of my fridge and it was super hard and very light weight as if it was hollow. I didn't open it. I've no idea how old it was.

If you have a whole foods near you try them... as for online, hold on let me check. try amazon, they have the seeds to grow them. Also check with Harry and David. I got them local a few months ago, are you on the west coast or the east coast?

Was it jist me or did he say they are growen in california but alot are growen here in the US? Correct me if i am wrong but isn't california in the US?

I've had a kiwi for 10 days and it's still quite hard and I've had it stored with a banana for 2 days. Why is it taking so long to soften.

Kiwi and gooseberry belong to the same family.  In fact a kiwifruit is a giant form of gooseberry.
