Among the 8,701 bar takers this year is retired Police Colonel Ibarra Mariano who exited the UST grounds at the last sunday of bar exam. At 87, he still pursues to become a lawyer to help the Filipino families denied with the equal protection of law because of poverty.
Mariano hails from Tacloban City who took up law at the Philippine Law School 51 years ago. He has 5 children and 16 grandchildren. For him, becoming a lawyer requires no age.
