Stax and Buzz finally won their very first international tournament at Masters Bangkok, but how did T1 do it with one of the lowest Tejo play rates at the entire event, and also while playing double duelist comps which were thought to be outdated? Let's find out!

I love how yoru turned from a bottom tier duelist alongside reyna to a very solid duelist-initiator

5:28 small clarification here- T1 specifically chose Reyna on Abyss vs G2 as a direct counter to Leaf's chamber. They knew Leaf's chamber prowess was the key to G2's Abyss, so the Reyna leer was always used to force leaf off angles.

T1 was the PRX fans like me wanted to succeed. Double duelist, aggressive plays, and cracked players plus *MOST IMPORTANTLY* countless heart attacks before finally lifting a trophy.

Think an underrated aspect is besides buzz, the second duelist switched between Izu and Meteor. Each of them having slightly different styles which made them harder to read.

The final game was giving me multuple heart attacks. When T1 went up 8-4 I thought it was over, then G2 slammed them to bring it to 12-10 and I thought it was over again, then T1 pull the double round win for OT.

"How T1 Won Masters Bangkok Without Tejo"

The first clip they show: "You see, these perfectly timed Tejo missles gave Buzz the opportunity to cross site-"

It's always a real good day when you get a Platoon vid. The level of understanding that you show and so succinctly explain is a true joy.

I’d like to think one of the reasons T1 won is also because so many teams were fixated on countering plays surrounding Tejo. G2 definitely were caught off guard with T1 going off meta with their duelist comp.

I think at first, they aim to not do the prx mistake of throwing away numbers advantage by regrouping but pearl having so much entrance to A site and without sentinels to help keeping their backs safe the adjustment to be more aggresive as a group ultimately overwhelmed G2 and won them a title

Their Reyna pick on abyss against G2 was actually a counter to the Chamber, not a comfort pick on a map they don't play. Autumn revealed before Haven that they knew how to counter the Chamber and Stax confirmed it after the event too. Also, despite throwing the game, they themselves didn't actually expect to win it so they weren't really shaken after losing in the manner that they did.

I really loved how diverse the teams were in these matches you analyzed. Even tho Tejo were really dominant at least there were very diffrent teams.

The Reyna pick was to counter leaf's chamber! You can see that they specifically use the Reyna flashes to counter his angles on A, and their entire attack side is focused on wiping out the Chamber during their pushes

It was kinda funny how this video was about how they won without Tejo then the first example at 3:09 was about the Tejo missiles 😂

Really good seeing double duelist being played in a high level kind of way and not in a fraud way that does not produce results.

Between T1 and DRX I’m glad one of my favs won (especially bc buzz and stax finally get to win and they did it together) can’t wait to see this S-tier DRX team refine their tactics and smash their way through stage 1

While BuZz's Neon was striking in the first half versus G2, from Pacific to Bangkok he was always called 'high utility shooting drone' by the Korean fans as his performance wasn't really the best. However, the fact that T1s winrate in pearl wasnt bad may show that how much Yoru is essential in their comp.

This only works because of Meteor. Back when he played for Northeption, he mainly played duelists, so picking Reyna and Iso feels natural for him.

crazy how the buffs to Yoru was like years ago but teams only just now realize how good Yoru actually is

Absolutely hate it when a few G2 fans said "If G2 dIDn'T tHRoW tHe RoUNd on PeARl, ThEy wOuLD'Ve wOn MasTerS BanGKoK.", like bro, if T1 didn't throw rounds Abyss they would have won 3-1 on finals
