The death toll from a plane crash in South Korea has risen to at least 85.

The aircraft veered off the runway and crashed into the wall at Maun International Airport.

Aviation expert Geoffrey Thomas says it's unclear how the aircraft veered off the runway, but multiple factors may have contributed to the crash.

Two people have been found alive so far while rescue crews search through the tail section for more survivors.

South Korea's government has convened an emergency meeting and has ordered an all-out rescue effort.

Did the "expert" actually look at the video? There is no nose gear showing and the main landing gear is also not deployed. The plane was just sliding down the runway with nothing but friction against the underside of the plane and engines to slow it down.

Please never have this expert on again if he can't be bothered to at least give the video a cursory watch.

Was the expert told “just say any old crap so we can go to air” ?
The landing gear was not deployed and the aircraft did not hit a wall, it hit an earth embankment.

A bird's beak DID NOT puncture the freaking landing gear tires. What an absolutely absurd suggestion.

They never extended the landing gear for some reason. Pretty obvious it was a gear up landing. Very sad. 🙏🙏🙏

This seems like a grave pilot error. The landing gear isn't down, but neither are the flaps. All of these systems have backups (landing gear through gravity, flaps with redundancy motors), none of them seem to have been used.

What is most concerning to me is the flaps and slats are up. Why??? A bird, multiple birds hit any of the gear is not going to keep it from retracting, It free falls.

A bird damaged the landing gear, yeah, no. I don’t believe that for one second.

Come on guys do a better job at reporting the wheels work down how can I puncture a tire really from a bird?

Why speculate? An assessment of the cause will be made by qualified people.

What a short runaway with a Barricade, the actual size of the Plane, at the end of the runway!

Thank you for not showing the moment of impact. We should not make a spectacle of the deaths of those precious people.

2 plane crashes have occurred within a week

Did IQ's drop sharply while I was away, has to be the best quote that sums up media reporting these days. And...who built a wall at the end of a runway?

It looked liked an attempted belly flop landing.
Hopefully the flight data recorder helps to explain this tragedy.

The didn't have the landing gear down

No gear, no flaps, thrust reversers deployed. This is most certainly not a bird strike
