Jesse predicts the entire 2024 AFL Finals Series!

As an American, predicting the grand final winner this year is a bit like filling out a March Madness bracket in the States: Everyone has an opinion; no one knows what's actually going to happen. That said, you did a great job of breaking down the pros/cons of each team and game.

This is word for word exactly what I think will happen too if I had to make a prediction on this year's finals. But with how unpredictable a lot of the results have been this season, anything could still happen.

Good predictions Jesse. I know with what we've seen it's difficult to argue against what you have predicted here, but if we do get that Swans vs GWS grand final after all you will be kicking yourself for not sticking to your guns in the preseason!

I don't think we have ever seen a final series before where we genuinely have no idea who will be the successful team. Your prediction, Jesse, is as good as any and one that I tend to agree with. The trouble is, of course, is that nothing about this season has been predictable and very little has gone to plan. Realistically, any team competing could conceivably win it - even Carlton with a few of their stars back. Be rather ironic if the Power win it given the way the crowd booed their coach a short couple of months ago.

rekkun the last thing hawks need now is the bye, dogs will tell them 'bye bye' the week after... cats will not be daunted by port, nor the giants by the swans - though that one is probably hardest to pick and makes all the difference tipping from there. your a brave lad predicting this season, go the footy!

Fantastic predictions as usual Jesse, I feel it might be an all interstate final as well. Sydney n Brisbane though, if the Lions can kick straight if not it may just be the "Battle of the Bridge"

Someone else commented this but based on how results have gone this year. Expect some team to pull something out of their ass and upset a team or two. Port have looked very good recently however since they lost by 79 to my lions two months ago and their win against freo (even though it’s freo) was very impressive from a pressure, defensive point of view.

This finals series is so hard to predict. I do think that Geelong won’t make it past the dogs or the hawks in the semi, that’s one thing I’ll back in no doubt to the amusement of Cats fans who have heard it all before. I also think that the inclusions the Blues will have might be overstated, and that we’re simply not settled enough and frankly not good enough to beat the Lions in Brisbane, but of course I’ll still believe we can as any good supporter should. I don’t know how it will happen in the end but I think this might end up being the Power’s year too, maybe against the Giants. Let’s hope the games are close and the footy is great!

This is pretty much my prediction as well, I just have Brisbane making it to the prelim ahead of GWS, but every other game I agree with. I just have a feeling Brisbane are going to get it together after the bye similar to how they turned their form around post bye in the middle of the season.

I've got either a Bulldogs vs. Power GF or Swans vs. Giants. Hawks don't have the experience yet but they are going to be even better next year, turning into a huge destination club.

Sydney have lost the 2014, 2016 and 2022 grand finals, I can’t see them losing another. That would absolutely suck if they lost another if they were to make it to the last day in September.
