All The Broken Hearts In The World Still Beat/Let's Not Make It Harder Than It Has To Be/It's All The Same Thing/Girls Chase Boys Chase Girls

I'm A Little Bit Down But I'm Not Dead/There's A Little Bit More That Has To Be Said/You Played Me Now I Play You Too/Let's Just Call It Over

Chorus

Chase Girls Chase Boys Chase Boys Chase Girls

I'm A Little Bit Home But I'm Not There Yet/It's One To Forgive But It's Hard To Forget/Don't Call Me I Won't Call You Too/Let's Just Call It Over

Chorus

Chase Girls Chase Boys Chase Boys Chase Girls

I Got Two Hands One Beating Heart And I'll Be Alright/I'm Going To Be Alright/Yeah I Got Two Hands One Beating Heart And I'll Be Alright/I'm Going To Be Alright

Chorus

(Oh Everything Is Going To Be Fine/Oh Everybody Loves You Baby/Oh Everything Is Going To Be Fine)

A note from Ingrid on the video:
Girls Chase Boys started out as a break up song but took on a deeper meaning as I continued writing. More than just being about my experience, its focus shifted to include the idea that, no matter who or how we love, we are all the same.

The video takes that idea one step further, and attempts to turn stereotypical gender roles on their head. Girls don't exclusively chase boys. We all know this! We all chase each other and in the end we are all chasing after the same thing: love.

As a heterosexual male, this song and video has been one of my guilty pleasures for a long time. I love to see how confident and beautiful the men are. It helps me remember that it's okay to want to be pretty sometimes.

It's really ironic how upset people are getting over this video. In case you didn't read the video, this music video is a homage to Robert Palmer's music video for Simply Irresistible. This music is an exact replica of the music video for Simply Irresistible apart from the genders that are being exploited are reversed. Ingrid is showing how we, as a society, are okay with females being used as sexual icons (like they are in Palmer's music video) but as soon as males are seen as feminine or sexual icons (like they are in Michaelson's music video) there is a massive uproar. This music video is pretty genius if you ask me and my respect for Ingrid Michaelson has only just increased.

Fun fact: Did you know makeup was originally made for men and reached its highest peak in Europe when Louis XVI wore it. Because he wore it many male aristocrats wore it too.

This video is a piece of art, if you didn't read the title this is an "Homage to Robert Palmer's "Simply Irresistible". It represents how society is ok with girls being used as sexual icons and how a reverse act of males as sexual icons can cause an uproar and by the looks of the comments this is what happened. Goal achieved. It's time to educate people about sexuality, sex, gender, and gender roles.

is it bad that back in 2014 when I first heard this song I thought it was about kids on a playground chasing each other playing tag LMAO

Hey you reading this, just in case no one told you, you are beautiful and there is nothing in this world that you cannot do. You are a gift to the world, there is no one who exist that is quite like you. I love you and believe in you. Forget the haters, they secretly wish they could be like you. Now go out and live the life you've always dreamed of. Xoxo

In 2014, when I was two months away from leaving Manhattan, I got a job at a coffee shop in midtown. I was broke and had to walk from 85th and Amsterdam to 44th and 6th. This song was on my playlist during my trek and made my departure easier. Chvrches has been one of my best friends since.

With the way she's dressed, the hair and glasses -- I keep glancing up and seeing Sarah Palin singing this song. >_<

The guy on the right who screws up the clapping at 2:57 has the best reaction. Hilarious.
