I'd say fortunately. I never liked the idea of Unicron being earth. It's like this huge threat you'll never get to see at its full potential. No writer would ever dare make him reactivate and transform to actually directly attack the Autobots because that would mean destroying the earth. I also don't like that it just mixes up everything with the conflict. Both Autobots and Deceptions love Cybertron, but the Autobots have respect for Earth and its life forms because it is their adoptive planet while the Deceptions only care about Cybertronian life. Making Unicron Earth just brings up so many questions as far as both factions' loyalty to who, and who's actually good and bad. This guy's meant to be the Galactus of Transformers, but Unicron is actually evil while Galactus just follows his nature. You're telling me you're gonna make Unicron, the god of destruction, the chaos bringer, be Earth? It just doesn't work for me at all.
