This video can be used as a whole lesson on the Battle of Balaclava in the Crimean war, or as revision of the battle itself. The presentation of the battle can be found between 09:31 and 25:05.

This lesson has been prepared to accompany the Edexcel GCSE History Warfare and British Society c.1250-Present topic. It should also be useful to anyone studying the development of warfare through time more generally.

I have also included references to Tennyson's poem 'Charge of the Light Brigade', meaning this lesson should be able to provide useful context for English Literature students studying this poem as a set text.

It only took 12 youtube videos and 3 documentaries to answer the question, "what did lord Ragland actually want the light brigade to do? What was the meaning of his unclear and misinterpreted orders?" FINALLY, after hours of frustration this video provided a clear answer to that question and many more. I have liked and subscribed. Thank you sir!

The sound quality is awful, barely audible!
