Nicola Forster is a law school graduate and President of foraus -- Forum Aussenpolitik, a young think tank focusing on Swiss Foreign Politics. In 2009, he led the national youth campaign for the Swiss vote on bilateral treaties with the EU and introduced viral campaigning to Swiss politics.

Due to its bilateral treaties with the EU, Switzerland has opened up its labour market to EU citizens. However, access for Non-EU citizens is restricted to a very small amount of people. I argue that Switzerland should seize this chance to profit of qualified foreign workers and abolish the quota for Non-EU citizens. A liberal migration policy focusing only on qualification would be economically beneficial by creating new jobs, especially in the field of innovation. With more brainpower from non-European countries Switzerland could position itself as a hub for creative businesses. Google is already here, others would follow: Truly exciting perspectives for a country with no other resources but brains!
