Japanese in 1912:
"What should we do to keep the US away?"
"We could give them some cherry trees"
"Sounds good, how many?"
"3000, that should buy us around 30 years"

Also, another fact : The Statue of Liberty was conceived by Gustave Eiffel. Yes, the same dude who designed the Eiffel Tower.

Norway tried giving the highest peak of a mountain on the border to Finland for our 100th year as a independent nation but their constitution prohibited it

Egypt gifted an entire temple to Spain! It’s called the Temple of Debod and it sits at a park in Madrid. Germany also gifted Spain parts of the Berlin Wall that are located at another park in Madrid, the Berlin park.

Tulips are our national flower amd The Netherlands are very well known for growing them. Also "fun" fact; during the harsh winter of 1944, many starving people ate tulip bulbs to at least have some food in theit stomachs.

Ireland's ties to the Choctaw nation is both amazing and heartwarming. Since 1847.

Canada (specifically Halifax, Nova Scotia) gives a Christmas Tree to the US (specifically Boston, MA) every year in thanks to their support after the Halifax explosion in 1917. The tree has been publicly lit and displayed each year since 1971.

Fun fact: Stalin was furious at Voroshilov because he dropped the Sword of Stalingrad. it's been said that Stalin lost his respect for him after that.

I wonder how awkward the Sword of Stalingrad would’ve been during the Cold War.

6:04 To add onto that, the Canadian government temporarily declared the room in the hospital the royal family was in as international territory so that the Dutch princess could be born a Dutch citizen

From Spain. Egypt gave an small egyptian temple to Spain thanking its help during the Abu Simbel recolocation. And France gives to Spain 3 cows each year, being the oldest peace treaty in Europe.

During Rutherford Hayes’ presidency, Thailand (known as the Kingdom of Siam at the time) gave the US the first Siamese cats introduced in the country. I believe Hayes kept them in the White House as pets.

A cool gift from one country to another : After terrorist attack in France, a dog from an intervention unit was killed in action during the raid of a terrorist hideout. The Dog was a German Shepard (I think) and as a gift and as a sign of friendship and solidarity against terrorism Russia offered a young puppy of the same breed to be trained as a dog for Special forces and counter terrorist units, and carry on the task of an heroic dog

Fun fact : the obelisk of the Place de la Concorde in Paris was also gifted by Egypt in 1836. It came from the temple of Luxor and is officially the Oldest monument of Paris because it was built in the ancient egypt era.

Sadly, the costarrican stadium was given instead of much needed road infrastructure. But was chosen by the president because it was “more visible” for the people.

I never saw the "reset button" you mention in your video but I do have a theory about what might have happened:

перезагружать = reboot/reset
перегружать = overload/overburden

You can see how it would be easy to make a mistake, although there's really no excuse as they had all the time in the world and countless Russian-speaking people available to proofread the one single word on that button...

I'm surprised you didn't include 'The Thing.'
The Soviet Union gifted a large ornamental seal to the usa in 1945 as a gesture of friendship. It hung in the usa ambassador's Moscow residential for seven years until 1952 when a British radio operator found he could overhear conversations happening in the office on an Soviet radio channel. It was at one of the first examples of a passive audio bug that required no power to operate and only a receiver to be near enough to relay the signal.
