Vocal Exploration Poem & Orff Arrangement

In this video we begin with a vocal exploration poem that access's the students head voice's. Our Winter Program was in conjunction with a reading collaboration with the classroom teachers using the book "How the Sky's Housekeeper Wore her Scarves". The music comes from the Orff "Music for Children" books and the text is from the book "How the Sky's Housekeeper Wore her Scarves".

Accessing students head voice should be a daily practice in the music classroom. That is the healthiest way for students to sing and at a young age students should learn and practice that there is a difference between their speaking voice and their singing voice. This aids in matching pitch and singing in tune as well.
