About half the world's population now lives in cities, but they are responsible for three quarters of the world's emissions. In this edition of Bloomberg Green, we look at how to cut the carbon out of our urban environments. First, we speak to Mark Watts, C40 Cities Executive Director, and David Coley, Bath University's Professor of Low Carbon Design, about which areas are most critical to tackle. Then we investigate the birth of a new profession in an America dealing with rising temperatures: the City Heat Officer. Finally, we look into two positive examples of city planning, Copenhagen and Bogota, that have turned the tide on emissions.
