Opeth are literally a genre of their own, that's why I love this band.

I think this all can be described as just Prog Metal. But nonetheless, nice video, I liked it.

I'd disagree about the nomenclature a bit. That snippet from The Lotus Eater is the skunkiest funk in the business.

The synth at black rose immortal is actually an electric guitar

Half of these can be summed up as extreme prog metal. They also have medieval folk touches in some acoustic sections in Orchid. And that part from Lotus Eater not blues lol

Opeth are the literal definition of progressive metal

I think I would choose a better example for the Black Metal section. The part after the solo in the second half of The Twilight Is My Robe with the fast double bass and the tremolo picked harmonies. But I get why you chose Under The Weeping Moon. Mikael has described it and it's lyrics as quoted: Total Black Metal Nonsense. Also about the straightforward Death Metal section I feel like Master's Apprentice's first verse would be more fitting but still Blackwater Park works. Anyway, great video!

Great video! I personally would place "The Lotus Eater" in 'Space Funk' ;)

"Lotus Eater" and "Spring MCMLXXIV" genres are actually interchangeable.

Великолепнвя группа, что бы она не играла. Обожая все их творчество, от демок до потрясающего Яд в хвосте.

I think in the begining of Sorceress sounds more like Jazz Fusion instead of Synth Rock, for me... And also Jazz Funk instead of Blues in Lotus Eater... But this video it's so cool tho 🤠 love Opeth

Great video.
A small comment:The Black Rose Immortal part is not synth, that's a guitar.

I was never a prog guy, but Opeth was always my favorite band of all the prog metal/prog rock bunch (Unless you consider Katatonia as prog, which I don't). Awesome and detailed video. Too bad most of the "every genre performed" videos aren't even close to this one. Another good detail is "implemented" used instead of "performed". I would love to see a video as good as this with Faith No More, Mr. Bungle and all the other Mike Patton's bands/projects.
