After importing notes from #Evernote into #Obsidian, the typed portion of the notes will be placed in a folder, while the images and other files will be located in another folder. But is this the best way to keep everything in Obsidian organized?

The note does allow you have frontmatter. It also allows you to add your comments. This is something that an image or PDF doesn't do for you in Obsidian

I am the opposite. Moved from Obsidian to Evernote, and love it. No thinking about the app just focusing on my notes and their contents. Which is 'the real work'.

Vlad, I am glad you made this video. There's so much noise around the theme of "If I want to leave Evernote, where can I go?" They're looking for a simple answer. When they get a simple answer like, "Just use Obsidian, " they think they've found the magic bullet.

Once they get into it, they start to realize that transferring their information without data loss is a bigger project than they thought. Then, they have a whole new platform to learn along with plugins and extensions. This video is a caution there maybe the grass is not greener somewhere else: If there are things that are throwing you a monkey wrench even with your level of expertise, just imagine the average person and what they will encounter. Thanks again for another thoughtful and well-produced video! 🎇

I switched last October. Finally manged to move my 9K Evernote notes over. (This is no easy thing when you run Linux, and so don't have an Evernote client; finally had to run EN in a Windows virtual machine and conduct the export from there). My experience to date has been excellent. Yes, there's a learning curve around the dataview Community plug-in, but once you get a handle on it, you can accomplish some marvelous things!

I haven't yet found a good way to search both notes and PDF. Is this something you managed? If so I'd love to see a video on it

The video is pea picking. You can assign and customize everything on Obsidian or extend it with plugins.
I switched from Evernote to Obsidian two weeks ago. You first have to understand obsidia. After you have gotten a big overview with all the important extensions and possibilities, you create a note with all the things and inspiration that you can use. Then you create a perfect concept or workflow yourself. From then on you will notice how limited Evernote is.
If you just want to write simple notes, then any other note app will do.
Obsidian is like Evernote, Notion, Remnote and other Infinity Canvas applications together... then injected with steroids again.

Maybe you are wired in your struggle to find who you are online. And what do you want to "teach".
